Install Mono on Ubuntu 18.04

Install Time: 10-15 minutes depending on your system
Experience Needed: Basic

Mono is an open source of Microsoft’s .Net platform. You will need it installed for programs like Sonarr, Radarr, Jackett, etc..

Install Mono:

1. First things first, lets update and upgrade packages.

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys 3FA7E0328081BFF6A14DA29AA6A19B38D3D831EF
echo "deb https://download.mono-project.com/repo/ubuntu stable-bionic main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mono-official-stable.list
sudo apt update

2. Install Mono, depending on the speed of your PC this could take some time. So take a break and check back in 4-5 minutes.

sudo apt install mono-devel

3. I have noticed that mono-devel will not cover all dependencies at times. So lets also install mono-complete.

sudo apt install mono-complete

4. That was it! Enjoy!
